John Holland, founder and president of Equine Welfare Alliance, and Paula Bacon, former mayor of Kaufman, Texas, site of a now closed horse slaughter facility, both testified in opposition to Tennessee state Rep. Frank Niceley’s pro-horse slaughter bill. The bill was withdrawn following the committee hearing.

Analogy of Pro Slaughter Propaganda
The "Unwanted Horse Theory", the term "Excess Horses", and the term "Humane Processing" are all used by pro slaughter proponents in their aggressive and deceptive campaigns promoting horse slaughter. The bottom line is that horse slaughter is driven by the market for horsemeat.
A lie remains a lie even when you try to cover it up.. just like in this grocery store analogy... Bleach can alter the fishy smell & taste when fish goes bad, but it doesn't improve the quality of the fish; instead you end up with camouflaged bad fish with a higher concentration of chemical toxins.
Those who support horse slaughter are promoting a lie, and one of the most barbaric violations of criminal animal cruelty.
