ALC Update: H.B. 1747, a bill to promote horse slaughter has been assigned to the Missouri Senate Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources Committee.
Though it has not been announced, the committee is expected to take up the bill on Wed., April 14, 2010. Please find members here (just click on their names for contact info) and write (faxes are best) or call and urge committee members to vote no to H.B. 1747. Don't wait. Do it now. This bill has already passed the state House of Representatives.

Analogy of Pro Slaughter Propaganda
The "Unwanted Horse Theory", the term "Excess Horses", and the term "Humane Processing" are all used by pro slaughter proponents in their aggressive and deceptive campaigns promoting horse slaughter. The bottom line is that horse slaughter is driven by the market for horsemeat.
A lie remains a lie even when you try to cover it up.. just like in this grocery store analogy... Bleach can alter the fishy smell & taste when fish goes bad, but it doesn't improve the quality of the fish; instead you end up with camouflaged bad fish with a higher concentration of chemical toxins.
Those who support horse slaughter are promoting a lie, and one of the most barbaric violations of criminal animal cruelty.
