FOUR HUGE STEPS FORWARD FOR THE HORSES IN FOURTEEN DAYS!
1. With just FOURTEEN days into the New Year, WFLF has just returned from a week long stay on the Calico Range where we documented the round up and holding of 100’s of wild horses. Just released, check out the WFLF Calico Report; “The Look in Their Eyes”.
2. Also check out the brand new WFLF Humanion Films PSA. In this “Message from the Filmmaker”, Katia Louise tells it like it is, exposes the proponents and promises to fight for the protection of all equines from slaughter until they are safe.
3. With the kick off of the new WFLF “WANTED Horse Campaign”, we encourage all equine rescues to reference the recent WFLF publication entitled, “Homeless YES, ‘Unwanted’ NO”.
4. WFLF is proud to announce that volunteer Executive Director, Katia Louise has just been appointed the West Coast Regional Coordinator for Americans Against Horse Slaughter.
Katia Louise said, “It's an honor and privilege to accept this position and to stand among those who continue to so courageously fight for this worthy CAUSE.” AAHS Co founders Shelley Abrams and Debra Lopez are encouraged in that this year promises to be very active in the fight to end horse slaughter. “Things are heating up on this issue once more and we have much work ahead of us”, said Katia Louise.
Katia is committed to bringing the truth to the public eye. As the newly appointed West Coast Regional Coordinator for AAHS, Katia asks those who oppose the barbaric practice of horse slaughter to be ever strong in this fight. “Many have been duped by the pro slaughter proponents and their clever campaigns of misinformation”, said Katia.
As highly regarded spokesperson and champion for the health and welfare of both wild and domestic equines, Katia's been working to end horse slaughter since 2004. Ms Louise is a Broadcast Journalist, Talk Show Host, Filmmaker, Actress and a lifelong animal advocate. Earlier this year she produced "Saving America's Horses" an audio documentary for international radio which in part inspired the making of the film currently in production, “Saving America’s Horses – A Nation Betrayed”. As Executive Director of WFLF Humanion Films, she formed a national coalition of the top anti-slaughter equine experts and pro-horse specialists which in 2009 officially teamed up efforts with AAHS to raise even more awareness for this cause.
